Happy Meal & Toy Collections for Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC)
|
Happy Meal Toy Drive - Your school, church, girl scout troop, boy scout pack, organization or business can have a one time or ongoing wrapped Happy Meal Toy Drive. We will pick up your collection and we will fill the treasure boxes in the treatment rooms in the hospital and clinics. The children select a toy from the treasure box following a procedure redirecting their attention to something fun.
Host your own Toy Drive - Invite your family and friends and ask that they bring an unwrapped new toy for children of all ages 0-21 or crayons & colorbooks, playdough, DVD's, Playstation games, and Teen items to also be given out by the hospital staff at times of need. These kids fighting cancer are spending hours, days, weeks and months undergoing treatments and with toys and small things as listed above provide wonderful distractions during their hospital stays.

Orange County Holiday Toy Drive & Happy Meal Treasure Collections Continue to be Great Successes We continue to make deliveries on a monthly basis of Toys and Happy Meal Toys to CHOC. Making it possible to over-fill every treatment room treasure chest at CHOC. The oncology clinic, emergency department, short stay unit, St. Joseph Pavilions and Child Life Specialists took toys they needed for their floors. We have continued to deliver larger boxes of toys, teen items and boxes full of crayons and markers for the oncology clinic and waiting room. Grant’s brother, Trent, has been collecting & delivering wrapped Happy Meal Toys for the treasure boxes at CHOC since 2003. He has also collected an assortment of toys, games, books, coloring books, crayons and play dough since 1996 for CHOC on the anniversary of his Heart Transplant in December, thanks to his family and friends.
There are currently collection boxes at McPherson Magnet School in Orange and KD’s Donuts in Anaheim Hills, Anaheim Hills Elementary, Hephatha Lutheran Preschool and now Wagner Elementary in Placentia. Many wonderful people have helped spread the word. Donations have increased due to collections by local girl scout troops, boy scout pack, Canyon Hills Women's Club, Mary Sadler, Aimee Firouznam Family and Friends Holiday gathering, Lisa Coads Bible Study Group, and many other friends and family. We’d love to have your help to. We need new toys for all ages, but we especially need teenage and infant items.
