** 60 wishes have been granted through 2008 to CHOC oncology patients. **
At CHOC, we granted our first wish in December of 2003 as a private trust and continued to do so until we received non-profit status in September of 2005. Our wish granting program was designed around the needs of children and the Reoccurring Cancer Team head by Dr. Kirov at CHOC. We have an agreement with the recurring oncology team at CHOC Hospital to identify all Pediatric Oncology patients being treated at CHOC that meet the following criteria for the GRANTS WISHES PROGRAM: |
1. The pediatric patient must be referred to GRANTS WISHES by a member of the oncology team.
2. The referred pediatric patient must have recurring or long term cancer.
3. The pediatric patient must have already received a wish from another organization or not qualify for one from any other wish organization.

| The recurring Oncology team at Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) expects to request 15 wishes for qualified children within the next year. The CHOC Recurring Oncology Team overlaps also working from UCI Medical Center where they expect to see an additional 5 qualified requests from UCI Pediatric Oncology Patients. |
